Trying to revive this clock!

This is an old clock from early 80's bought in the Army and Navy Store in Calgary (wife Marg thinks that is where). It had a broken clasp so I decided to check around for one. See the continuing story by the pictures!

There it is fixed! Then we found the clock mechanism is not working and was put in with hot glue! Next challenge is to cut through the hot glue and release the clock mechanism so I can replace the clock!

I got the clock out but now it may be difficult to find a replacement!

Moving these old posts to a new blog!

Projects

So I have had this little Planet Junior Horse Hoe for a few years. It came from my dad who had put handles on it made of spruce. They rotted from sitting outside so I started the replacement project tonight. The new handles came from an Old Order Mennonite wood shop in Elmira, Ontario. I have an extra set on hand and may sell them.
In need of repair!

New scuffler handles

The repair begins.

Planet Junior Horse Hoe

Looking for some wood dowels to put braces between the handles.

Problem with pages is that I have not figured out how to just post here.
Anyway I did find some 1" maple doweling and have got those installed between the handles. I guesstimated from the pictures on the net that they would be about 6" apart and I counter sunk them about 1/4" to get a better tight fit.

Now to oil the wood and bolt/screw to finish. I can't decide what to do about the metal as it would be nice to get it stripped and finish painted but is it worth the money?

The finished product in the garden. I may decide to paint the scuffler yet too!

Visited Honeywood Heritage Nursery and found this scuffler in a flower bed. I m not sure what brand it is as I did not want to walk in the flower bed. I do think it is a Plant Junior but I will try to find out for sure.
